4 cups (1 L) fresh blueberries
2 cups (500 mL) fresh raspberries
5 cups (1.25 L) granulated sugar
2 tbsp (25 mL) lemon juice
3/4 cup (175 mL) water
1 package (57 g) powdered fruit pectin
1. In a large bowl, mash blueberries. Add raspberries and mash. Stir in sugar and lemon juice. Let stand for 10 minutes.
2. In a small saucepan, bring water and pectin to a boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add to fruit mixture; stir for 3 minutes or until sugar is dissolved.
3. Ladle into 1 cup (250 mL) freezer-jam containers, leaving 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) head space. Wipe rims; apply lids tightly and let cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes. Refrigerate for up to 3 weeks or freeze for up to 1 year.
