4 crusty Italian rolls, split in half
1 lb (500g) beef stir-fry strips or Inside round or sirloin tip steak, cut into strips
1 large clove garlic, minced OR 1/2 tsp (2 mL) garlic powder
1 green or red pepper, cut in strips
1 onion, sliced
1/2 cup (125 mL) processed cheese spread
1 tsp (5 mL) Worcestershire sauce
Split rolls along one side; wrap in foil and warm in oven. Heat a large oiled skillet over medium heat; stir-fry beef and garlic in hot skillet for 2 minutes; remove beef. Add peppers and onion; stir-fry 2-3 minutes or until softened. Return beef and stir in cheese and Worcestershire sauce just to melt. Spoon mixture with sauce into rolls.
TIP: For a spicier version, substitute Mexican flavoured cheese spread and omit Worcestershire sauce.
Makes 4 servings.
