Mitzi’s Matzoballs

What would a Passover feast be without matzoballs? Here is a staff favourite from Grandma Mitzi. Enjoy!

Prep time: 5 minutes + 1 hour chilling

Cooking time: 30-60 minutes

6 Eggs
1 cup water
½ tsp salt
pinch pepper
1 tbsp oil
2 cups matzo meal


  1. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs and water. Add salt, pepper, oil.
  2. Stir in matzo meal.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  4. Form mixture into large walnut-sized balls (balls expand in the pot) with moist hands (either water or oil). Drop balls into large pot of salted water or chicken broth. Simmer 30-60 minutes.
  5. Serve in chicken soup.
