Basic Sugar Cookie Dough
Circle cookie cutters, variety of sizes
Food colouring, preferred colours
Disposable frosting bag for each colour
Coupler for each colour
Size “5” decorating tip for each colour
Rubber band for each colour
Sanding sugar or fine sprinkles, white or to match each colour
- Prepare dough and frosting according to the recipes. Cut out circle cookies. Before baking, make a hole at the top of the circle with a drinking straw. Bake according to recipe and let cool.
- Follow the Basic Decorating Instructions to tint frosting with preferred colors and prepare frosting bags with size “5” decorating tips. Outline circles with frosting and let set about 15 minutes, making sure to outline around the hole. Pipe to fill the circle with frosting and immediately and generously sprinkle coordinating color of sanding sugar to completely coat circle. Shake off excess, let dry overnight and hang with ribbon.
