Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault’s Red Hanger Fix
Stop your clothes from slipping off the hanger with this oh-so-smart rubberized spray paint.
Materials
- Wooden hanger
- Krud Kutter® Gloss-Off Prepaint Surface Preparation
- Lint-free rag
- Disposable gloves
- Drop cloth or old sheet
- Painter’s tape
- Rust-Oleum® Specialty FlexiDipTM Removable Rubber Coating in Red
- Patterned Washi tape
Instructions
Step 1: To begin, move the hanger to an open area, either outdoors or in a well-ventilated space such as a garage, and cover nearby items with drop cloths to protect them from over-spray when painting.
Step 2: Wearing disposable gloves, use a lint-free rag to wipe down all wood surfaces of the hanger with Krud Kutter Gloss-Off to prep for paint. No need to rinse.
Step 3: Using painter’s tape, mask off any areas that you don’t want painted, including the metal top hook.
Step 4: Apply 1-2 even coats of FlexiDipTM Rubber Coating and let dry thoroughly between coats as per directions on can.
Step 5: For an added detail, trim the hanger with patterned Washi Tape to complement the colour.

- Zinsser® Bulls Eye 1-2-3® Water-Base Spray Primer
- Krud Kutter® Gloss-Off Prepaint Surface Preparation
- Rust-Oleum® Specialty Glitter Paint in Silver
- Rust-Oleum® Specialty Glitter Clear Sealer
- Craft paper
- Scissors
- Gold letter stickers

Step 6: Apply a coat of Rust-Oleum® Specialty Glitter Clear Sealer to prevent the glitter from rubbing off.
Step 7: Using craft paper and decorative letter sticker, make daily tags to help coordinate and organize your weekly wardrobe.

- Zinsser® Bulls Eye 1-2-3® Water-Base Spray Primer
- Krud Kutter® Gloss-Off Prepaint Surface Preparation
- Painter’s Touch® Ultra Cover Paint in Gloss Ocean Mist
- Adhesive gold glitter paper
- Hole punch
