The quick gulping worked. I took several quick sips of water and magically the hiccups were gone. I was at work in a cubicle so it can be kind of embarrassing and annoying :)
the 3rd one worked for me!!
i was trying to go to sleep and i had massive hiccups and i looked on google, found this and tried it!!! after the 30 seconds theyu were gone!
I did the pressing of the palm with the thumb. It worked for me. I had a severe case of hiccups 4 times throughout the day and was starting to hurt. I pressed my right palm a little hard for about 10 seconds and they were gone. :)
the cupping my hands over my face and breathing one worked instantly!!!! i'm so thankful that i found this article!
I tried plugging my ears, holding my breathe, pressing my palm... none worked for me. But then I took a few slow sips of water and they were gone.
None of these worked at all!!!! I literally tried all of them and nothing happened.
the methods worked for me like a charm :D
The 5th one worked for me :]
I've been using the hold-your-breath thing since I first learned it as a teenager, and it's never failed me. Hurray for carbon dioxide!
Scare tactic + deep breaths = "your not gonna get laid tonight if you keep hickuping" leads to deep breathing which actually worked!!! Lol
I am 9 years old and have been trying to get rid of my hipcups this morning by holding my breath but it didn't work. My Dad suggested I google and I found your 7 suggestions. The first one worked immediately, pressing my thumb into my palm. Thank-you so much and I look forward to a hiccup free day.
i have tried all of these and i still have hiccups
i tryed all of those methods and none worked. if you want to get rid of hiccups then drink up side down. you do this by but the edge of the cup thats furthest away from you and put it on you top lip. you then tilt your head forwads with the cup. you then constrat on drink then juice or water. Then when you feel satisfied then you can stop. this trick works every time for me and the friends. (sorry for the spelling im 15 and dislexic !) by katherine cameron
My daughter has discovered having a drink of Fizzy soda will help.
The 6th one Worked perfectly!
None of them worked I still have the hiccups :(
I tried all of the methods on here and at first it didn't seem like any of these ideas worked. But all of a sudden...no more hiccups by the time I reached number 7. Then I realized that no matter what "cure" you try, if you try it enough times it takes exactly how long it takes for hiccups to just go away on their own. ;)
Thanks it worked xD
The third one worked for me. I did it for about 40 seconds and its gone. So happy to get rid of it. Now i can sleep :)
The quick drinking of water worked!! I've been stuck with a hiccup for like three hours and it's finally gone!!!! Thank you soooo much!
Wow number 3 worked like a charm!
iv had hiccups 4 times in a today and last night i did the drinking water helped for me take 10 quick sips, and it went straight away perfect
THANK YOU SOSOSOSOSOOSOS MUCH. LIFE SAVERRRRR <3333
Try lying down. It always works for me.
A spoonful of creamy peanut butter works every time!
While sitting, I put my head down to my knees, and it stopped immediately! I don't get them often, but when I do, it usually takes quite awhile to stop them. But, my co-worker told me to do this, and it worked right away. I'm amazed!
A spoon full of peanut butter works every time. I haven't found anything else that works.
Drink water backwards (bend over glass and drink from wromg siide) always works!
Lirerally toss about 1 tsp. of granulated sugar down the back of your throat and swallow before it starts to dissolve. The sugar 'grates' on the nerves in the throat and stops the hiccups. Has worked for me for the last 40 years.
I agree with the gulping. It also works drinking milk!!
I eat a small spoon of peanut butter and they disappear instantly.
what always works for me is a tsp of sugar.
Try eating something really sour like a fresh lemon, dill pickle, warhead, etc. Trust me it always works.
THANK YOU SO MUCH... CUPPING MY HANDS OVER MY MOUTH AND NOSE WORKED IMMEDIATELY. I GET REALLY BAD... LOUD HICCUPS SO I WILL DEFINITELY REMEMBER THIS TECHNIQUE! THANKS AGAIN... AS A RECEPTIONIST... ANSWERING THE PHONE WITH HICCUPS IS PRETTY UNPROFESSIONAL. YOU SAVED ME!
haha the palm one worked! cheers! kinda wierd though lol...
1st and 4th work for me!
I had a very bad heartburn , 4am , alone In my hotel room , and the hiccups joined in .....read this article but didn't help , water was just at my tongue level ! Then .... I ate just a little , mint flavour Colgate toothpaste , believe me I loved myself for being such an explorer.
i've had hiccups for 5 days and none of these worked!!!
The third one worked straight away for me! Brilliant
This steps are really magical...hicups vanished within 2 seconds.thanks alot
Sticking out my tongue worked. Wow
My mate ally was cured by the first one! Amazing! He had been very distressed and even tried the famous angel position to no avail. But after ten seconds with the thumb pinch, he was a cured man.
i put my fingers on the soft spot behind my ears and stuck my tongue out a little and now they are gone!
Works every time to get rid of hiccups. Put out a match in a small glass of water and drink it.
No. 5 worked instantly for me. Thanks. :)
Put a bread knife on the back of your tongue - depress slightly - NEVER FAILS
Drink a glass of water upside down. That is bend right over and drink from the opposite side of the glass. Works for me every time and works in seconds. Used this method for 20 years without fail. If it doesn't work just try a few more times it will work. P.
Plugging your ears and swallowing works ;0
taking a deep breath really works.. i always do this when i have hiccups...
I found this after trying to get rid of my hiccups. The "covering you mouth" worked the best for me.
