Canada 150: Your Greatest Canada Day Photography
What better way to wish our country a happy 150th birthday than to share these patriotic photos snapped by fellow Canadians?
Celebrating in Style
“There is nothing like celebrating Canada Day during a beautiful sunset at Sauble Beach, Ont.,” says Petra Schneider of Waterloo, Ont. “Picture is my daughter, Erika.”
We’ve rounded up our favourite Canadian beaches based on five different criteria.
Robert Piquette of Pierrefonds, Que., writes, ”Several years ago, my then 11-year-old daughter Jessica and I spent a great day flying a kite in nearby Kirkand. This diamond kite is one from our own collection.”
These five Montreal getaways will have you up in the air and back on the ground in an hour.
Supporting the Home Team
Jeanette Grimshaw of Hamilton writes, ”I snapped this pic prior to the singing of ”O Canada” at a Hamilton Tiger-Cats football game—this enormous flag is used before every Ticat home game.
Look Out Behind You!
Jean Anderson of Gravenhurst, Ont., sent along this happy pic, writing, ”In 2014, my husband Robert and I visited our son, Murray (grey hat), daughter-in-law Barbara and our grandchildren (from left: Thomas, Charlize and Liliana) in Shediac, N.B., over Canada Day.”
Everywhere you look across this great country, our national colours are on display. Check out these amazing photographs from our readers!
Getting in the Spirit
Penny Beasse of Ste. Rose du Lac, Man., says, ”These are my grandsons, Logan (left) and Tarin, celebrating Canada Day with their grandpa Fern and our dog Peppy.”
A Ferry Nice View
Norbert Hoferichter of Alliston, Ont., snapped this great shot of the Toronto skyline last summer from the Toronto Islands ferry on its way to Ward’s Island.
