Introducing the 2016 Chevrolet Volt
For many years drivers have been looking for ways to reduce their environmental footprints and get more bang for their buck. The 2016 Chevrolet Volt is designed to accomplish both of those goals. For 2016, the iconic electric car from GM has been redesigned, making it more efficient, lighter in weight and more fun to drive. Here are 5 key things you need to know about the latest update to the Chevrolet Volt.
1. The 2016 Chevrolet Volt is More Efficient
The latest version of the Chevy Volt has been redesigned to be 12% more efficient than earlier models, with a two-motor design that provides better acceleration from 0-48 km/h. 2. The 2016 Chevrolet Volt Has a Better Battery
An electric car is only as good as its car battery, and Chevy has certainly taken that concept to heart. For 2016 the volt has a lighter and more efficient battery so drivers can go even further on a full charge. The battery in the 2016 Volt is 9 kg lighter than previous versions, but it has managed to increase its capacity to 18.4kWh.
3. The 2016 Chevrolet Volt Has a Better Range
Range has always been a concern on electric-only vehicles, but Chevy has redesigned the Volt to make battery range less of a concern. The 2016 Volt includes a new 1.5L range extender that uses normal unleaded gasoline. That allows drivers to go further with more confidence yet still allows the Volt to get an impressive 5.7L/100km fuel efficiency rating.
The 2016 version of the Volt also includes the exclusive Regen on Demand™ feature to let drivers increase energy regeneration as needed. With the touch of a paddle on the back of the steering wheel drivers can create their own regeneration energy to extend the battery range even further.
4. The Latest Chevrolet Volt is More Comfortable
Rear seating is always a consideration on small cars, but Chevy has worked hard to make the newest Volt as comfortable as possible. The 2016 model features true 5-passenger seating so you can take the whole family in comfort and style. The newest Chevy Volt is even available with optional heated seats in both front and rear so you can brave those cold Canadian mornings and enjoy a more comfortable commute.
5. The 2016 Chevrolet Volt Includes Location-Based Charging
The 2016 Chevy Volt can alter its charging operation depending on where it is. The vehicle also includes a simpler and more compact design for its 120V portable charging cord and a more convenient storage location as well. There is even an optional illuminated charging port for easier nighttime operation.
