Most Trusted Travel Insurance Company: Blue Cross
In 1939, Manitoba was the first province to establish a Blue Cross plan. Today, Blue Cross covers millions of Canadians with supplementary health, dental, travel and life insurance.
Most Trusted Cereal (Adult): Kellogg’s
The first Kellogg’s cereal began with a failed attempt to make granola—W.K. Kellogg accidentally turned wheat berry into flakes. He tried flaking corn next, and in 1906, Kellogg’s Corn Flakes hit the market. Kellogg’s Raisin Bran launched during World War II; it was important for Americans to eat nutrient-packed whole grains during food rationing.
Most Trusted Non-Dairy Beverage: Silk
Silk has its roots in Boulder, Colorado, where, in 1977, an investor pitched in $2000 of funding for the company’s plant-based food ideas. After experimenting with meatball sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, pizza, salad dressings, mayonnaise, pies, cakes and more, the company found its big break with Silk soymilk. Today, the company known for soymilk also sells almond, coconut and cashew milks, as well as creamers and non-dairy yogurt alternatives.
