What Is It? July 2011

June Lamey of Cowansville, Que., writes, “A couple of acquaintances gave me these items thinking they were used for knitting, but to my knowledge, they’re not. The long narrow piece has a small hole in one end on the left-hand side while the circular object has numbers on both sides. The front side (pictured) has numbers ranging from .0070 to .3125, which are not consecutive. The flip side has numbers from 0 to 36 that are consecutive.” Any ideas readers?
