Tomato juice’s stench-fighting powers are famous, and it’s the go-to treatment for a dog that has been sprayed by a skunk.
1. Deodorize Plastic Containers
To remove foul odours from a plastic container, pour a little tomato juice onto a sponge and wipe it around the inside of the container. Then wash the container and lid in warm soapy water, dry well and store them separated in the freezer for a couple of days. The container will be stench-free and ready to use again.
2. Remove Bad Dog Smells
Is there a dog alive that hasn’t rolled in something foul and stinky? If your dog does this, douse the affected area thoroughly with undiluted tomato juice. Make sure to sponge some of the juice over your pet’s face, too, avoiding his eyes. Wait a few minutes for the acids from the tomatoes to neutralize the smell and then give him a shampoo and scrub with soap and water. Repeat as necessary over several days until the smell has completely gone.
