5 Things To Do with Pop
Don’t pour that pop down the drain. Instead, use it to remove rust, freshen cut flowers, moisten your ham, and more!
1. Clean Car Battery Terminals
Yes, it’s true, the acidic properties of pop will help to eliminate corrosion from your car battery. Nearly all carbonated soft drinks contain carbonic acid, which helps to remove stains and dissolve rust deposits. Pour some pop over the battery terminals and let it sit. Remove the sticky residue with a wet sponge.
2. Loosen Rusted-On Nuts and Bolts
Stop struggling with rusted-on nuts and bolts. Pop can help to loosen them. Soak a rag in the pop and wrap it around the bolt for several minutes.
3. Make Cut Flowers Last Longer
Don’t throw away those last drops of pop. Pour about ¼ cup into the water in a vase full of cut flowers. The sugar in the pop will make the blossoms last longer. If you have a clear vase and want the water to remain clear, use a clear pop, such as Sprite or 7-Up.
5. Clean Your Coins
Who wants dirty money? If coin collecting is your hobby, use cola to clean your stash. Place the coins in a small dish and soak in cola for a shimmering shine. Of course, you don’t want to do this with very rare and valuable coins.
