How to Save Money on Groceries
Be prepared before you go shopping! A little planning goes a long way.
- – Plan to do your supermarket shopping once a week, and don’t forget to take a detailed list that includes all the meals you have planned for the week, as well as all the other household needs.
- – Make a point of checking what you need. Before you leave, look in your cupboards to see how much you have of each product. Your goal is to come back with everything you need for the week. You shouldn’t have to go back for something you’ve forgotten or for silly extras.
- – Learn to master the ‘once-a-week’ method before you move on to the next step: shopping once a fortnight. This means you plan your meals for 2 weeks and you will need to put some of your fresh products in the freezer as soon as you come home from the supermarket.
