- Circular saw

Do-It-Yourself Chalkboard Gift Tag Instructions
Step 1: Using a circular saw, cut even slices of the birch log about 1⁄4-inch thick.
Step 2: Drill a small hole near the edge of each slice.
Step 3: With an artist’s brush, apply two coats of Chalkboard paint to the centre of each birch slice.
Step 4: Once dry, loop yarn or twine through the drill hole, write a name or greeting on the birch slice in chalk, and then tie it to a festive gift.
