Frosted Fruit Arrangement

It's a lot easier to create this gorgeous centerpiece than it looks. For food-safety reasons, make frosted fruit the same day it will be eaten. Even easier: If you are sure fruit will not be eaten, you can adhere the sugar with artist's adhesive (available at art-supply or crafts stores).

What you will need:
Powdered egg whites (such as Just Whites)
Sugar
Assorted fruits, such as grapes, apples, pears, and plums
Pastry brush
Large plate
Nonstick cookie sheet
Platter for display

STEP 1:
Mix powdered egg whites with enough water to create a thin mixture. Spread sugar on a large plate. Using a pastry brush, apply a thin coat of egg white mixture to each fruit, then carefully roll it in sugar and set on cookie sheet to dry. Allow fruit to dry completely before arranging. Or, to make an easier — but inedible — arrangement, spray fruit lightly with artist's adhesive, then immediately roll in sugar. Let dry briefly before arranging.
