Ingredients

1 can 284 mL/10 oz) golden mushroom soup
1/2 envelope (35 g) dried onion soup mix
75 mL (1/3 cup) red wine
5 mL (1 tsp) minced garlic (1 clove)
OR 2 mL (1/2 tsp) garlic powder
1 mL (1/4 tsp) dried thyme
Freshly ground pepper, to taste
750 g (1-1/2 lb) stew beef or round steak cut into ¼ inch (6 mm) strips

Directions

In a bowl, mix together all ingredients except beef. Place beef in a large casserole, pour sauce over top and mix well. Cover casserole and bake in 300ºF (150ºC) oven for 2 hours. Serve with wild rice and garnish with parsley.

Makes 5 to 6 servings.
