2 tbsp (25 mL) vegetable oil
1 small onion, chopped
2 tbsp (25 mL) brown sugar
3/4 cup (175 mL) ketchup
1/4 cup (50 mL) lemon juice
1 tbsp (15 mL) Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp (15 mL) Dijon mustard
1 tsp (5 mL) chili powder
6 small turkey drumsticks (about 3 lb./1.5 kg)
In a small saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and cook, stirring, for 3 minutes or until soft but not browned. Reduce heat to low, stir in brown sugar and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes longer.
Remove from heat, stir in ketchup, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chili powder and Tabasco. Arrange drumsticks in a 9 x 13 inch (3 L) glass baking dish. Pour sauce evenly over top and bake, covered, in a 350°F (180°C) oven, basting occasionally, for 1 hour.
Skim off any fat accumulated in pan, uncover and bake for 45 minutes longer or until drumsticks are tender and juices run clear when tested with a knife.
