Ingredients

1 can (19 oz) chickpeas, rinsed and drained
75 mL (1/3 cup) plain non-fat yogurt
30 mL (2 tbsp) reduced-fat sour cream
15 mL (1 tbsp) lemon juice
15 mL (1 tbsp) sesame oil
2 mL (1/2 tsp) salt
2 mL (1/2 tsp) ground coriander
0.5 mL (1/8 tsp) each cayenne pepper and allspice
50 mL (1/4 cup) chopped parsley or cilantro (optional)
5 mL (1 tsp) paprika (optional)

Directions

  1. In a small pot of boiling water, cook the garlic for 2 minutes to blanch. Drain and transfer to a food processor. Add the chickpeas, yogurt, sour cream, lemon juice, sesame oil, salt, coriander, cayenne, and allspice to the processor and purée.
  2. Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle with the parsley and paprika.
