5 cups (1.25L) apple slices
1/2 cup (125 mL) lemon juice
1/2 cup (125 mL) apple juice
1 tbsp (15 mL) brown sugar
Topping
1-1/2 cups (375 mL) quick-cooking rolled oats
1 cup (250 mL) packed brown sugar
3/4 cup (175 mL) melted butter
1/2 cup (125 mL) all-purpose flour
1-1/2 tsp (8 mL) ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt

Directions

Place apple slices in a greased 9-in square baking dish; sprinkle with lemon juice, apple juice and brown sugar. In a medium bowl, combine oats, sugar, butter, flour, cinnamon and salt. Mix well until topping is crumbly. Sprinkle topping mixture over apples. Bake in a preheated 375ºF (190ºC) oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until apples are soft. Serve hot, warm or cold.

Serves 6.
