Luckily, that ingredient is probably already in your fridge, leftover from taco Tuesday. The secret ingredient: sour cream. Yes, it seems a little strange. You’re probably used to mixing in sour cream with the salty foods in your burrito, not into your dessert. But, it brings the recipe to a whole new level.
All you need to do is add in half a cup to your recipe to get extra fudgy brownies. Adding a thick, tangy substance like sour cream prevents the batter from loosening up too much, which will result in a very dense and chewy final product.
Brownies are pretty foolproof—not that many ingredients go into making them. Adding a little sour cream won’t add much time to the cooking process. It may, however, affect the amount of time it takes for them to be devoured after they come out of the oven.
