10 Spring Break Getaways for Families

Looking for things to do with the kids on Spring Break? Here are ideas for educational activities that are fun for the whole family

By Diane Selkirk for readersdigest.ca

Most parents will tell you--travel is one of the most rewarding things you can do as a family. While parents know that they are strengthening family bonds by travelling together, a new survey by the Student Youth & Travel Association (SYTA) tells us that our kids are benefiting more than we might think, “Travelling at a young age supports school performance, leads to successful careers and increases the likelihood of continued travel throughout one's life.”

It turns out that all that anecdotal stuff about well-travelled kids being successful in later life is true. They do well in school, develop compassion and understanding of unique cultures and if you choose one of these vacations, they may even learn fantastic new skills.

Here are 10 great suggestions that are sure to be enjoyed by the entire family.

These 10 Days trips sound wonderful, but how many families are able to afford these? I also noticed most of these are out of Canada. I think if you live in Canada, children should learn about our own history. There are many places that you can visit & learn of all different cultures & traditions. Every summer my parents took us camping & travelled all the provinces. There are many sites to see & alot of history right here.
