The World’s Smallest Desert

Beverly Lafortune of Kanata, Ontario, writes: “Carcross Dunes are the result of a glacial process that started about 10,000 years ago. The Desert is in the Yukon and the sand dunes are ever-changing because of the winds. It was a big climb to the top and once there, it dropped off about 50 feet.” It looked like quite the adventure!

The Carcross Desert, which holds the distinction of being the “world’s smallest desert,” made our countdown of the best Canadian attractions you’ve never heard of!
