Your question/answer regarding whether children who are bitten are known to the dog is ambiguous. I was not wrong when I answered that most are known,
I agree with the poster above. Ambiguous. I was not wrong either. Also, you should mention the other body language signs such as; ears forward, tail straight up in the air, chest out. A dog that is docile will be using it's nose. If a dog is all eye contact--it's looking to pounce. And the most overlooked body language is when a dog sees another dog and stops in it's tracks drops it's head and almost lies down. It's called stalking behavior. Many foolish owners usually follow up with, "Oh he/she just wants to play." Wrong. That dog is ready to kill it's prey that it is stalking. I wish people had to pass a proficiency exam like a driving test before getting a dog...especially a power breed.
