1. Create an Effect of Movement

Shoot at a slow shutter speed while holding the camera still so the background is still but your pet is in motion. If you’re not using a tripod, keep image stabilization on to keep the background sharp.

    I always wondered why my pictures of my pets always lack a certain soul to it. My dog just doesn't seem as natural in the pictures than in real life. Thanks for your tips! I will now take heed to place the focus on his eyes instead.
