Layla Zoe, originally from B.C. but now in Montreal, wrote an inspiring story for our Showcase feature in the April/May issue of Our Canada. You can't get her complete story just by reading, you have to hear her sing!

"I have always wanted to make music and bring my fans release and freedom through my songs," Layla wrote in her story. "In expressing my pain onstage, I remind them they are not alone and in the rawness of my personality that’s present in my songs, I remind people that it is okay to be themselves; not everyone understands or relates to it, but most do."

"I have come through the fire and can say that I am still here fighting for my dreams after dealing with many obstacles from depression and loss to drugs and trauma. That’s the real blues and you will hear it in every note I sing and see it in every move I make onstage."
