August 3-5 2012
Roots to Boots
Town of Amherstburg, ON

Fort Malden NHSC and Downtown Amherstburg. Step Back in time as Amherstburg transforms into an 1812 setting with a modern twist! Genealogy & Ancestry, Family Picnics, Period costumed re enactors on every corner! Catch a glimpse of Chief Tecumseh, General Brock, or one of the gallant women who cooked up a storm for the soldiers on an open hearth.

Brock's Landing
Wheatley Harbour: 20951 Pier Rd, Wheatley ON, N0P 2P0

In conjunction with the Provincial Marine Amherstburg we will be holding a re-enactment to commemorate Brock's landing on Sand Island 200 years ago. Brock and his men stopped here and fixed their boats before going on to Fort Malden. Noon with a perch lunch following, open to the public. Landing will be held at the Wheatley Harbour depending on weather.

Tecumseh Corn Festival

Named one of the top 100 festivals in Ontario, this year’s Corn Festival will be 1812-themed. Come enjoy a weekend of entertainment, friendship, family, and lots of corn.

Capture of Detroit
Riverfront Festival Plaza: 300 Riverside Drive East, Windsor, ON

Windsor’s signature event commemorates the Capture of Detroit and features a march from Sandwich Towne to downtown Windsor, where a stage show takes place at Festival Plaza and features a variety of performers, vendors, exhibitors, etc.

Military Muster
Canadian Transportation Museum & Heritage Village: Arner Townline, Essex, ON

The largest historical military show in Canada. War of 1812 re-enactors and demonstrations will be present to commemorate the War of 1812 in our region.
