Are you haunted by your lack of knowledge about the parnormal?
Quick—how do ghosts differ from ghouls? Not sure? You're not alone. Many people will be haunted by a lack of familiarity with the paranormal on Halloween.
But fear not. Well, maybe not. With a little help from SPIRIT Paranormal Investigations and Forgotten Coast Paranormal Investigators, we've compiled a list of terms to help you spook the ghouls out hunting for candy.
Apparition: A spirit—you know, a soul—that you can actually see.
Apport: When a spirit causes a solid object to appear.
Demon: An evil spirit. This term apparently once referred to deceased individuals.
Ghost: A spirit that continues to hang out on Earth.
Ghoul: An evil, grave-robbing spirit.
Haunted: Any place where otherworldly beings do their thing.
Medium: When not speaking to your friends and family, are you communicating with ghosts and spirits? Then you're a medium.
Poltergeist: A ghost prone to making noise and playing pranks. According to Forgotten Coast Paranormal Investigators, they can follow whomever they've chosen to torment.
Supernatural: Happenings beyond the understanding of science.
Witch: A woman with the power to cause supernatural occurrences.
Wraith: A ghost bent on avenging its own death.
