Who Are Your Heroes of 2008?
You told us who your Heroes of 2007 were, so we’re calling on you again in our annual search for Canada’s heroes.

Real heroes walk among us every day. That was never more clear than when we received hundreds of nominations from you, our readers, in response to our website request last year and in 2005. That’s why we’re coming back to you once again to help us choose this year’s heroes. So, as we move through the year, we invite you to tell us which Canadians really stand out for their selflessness, strength, courage and conviction.

Who will our Heroes of 2008 be? That’s up to you! Make your nominations in these categories: Community Service; Rescue; Health and/or Research; Education; Public Life. Then look for this year’s picks in our January 2009 issue.

Some Rules:

• The person you nominate as a hero must be a Canadian citizen or resident;
• The person you nominate must be living (we will not recognize people posthumously)
• The person should have performed an act outside of, or unrelated to, their daily job
• You can nominate more than one person in a single category, and you can nominate people in as many categories as you like.
• Please do not nominate the same person more than once. The number of “nominations” received does not count towards selection.
• An independent panel of judges will select the 2007 heroes based on merit, so tell us as much as you can about what your hero has done.
