She’s absolutely right: Canadians are pretty tight-fisted when it comes to supporting charities. According to Statistics Canada (2005 data for Canadians 15 and over), the median* donation to charitable organizations, among Canadians who claimed a charitable donation on their 2005 income tax return, was only $240. Here’s how the provinces stack up:
