One student in our Canadian-literature course at the University of Ottawa was a great supporter of Northrop Frye's literary theories. He had mentioned Frye's theories so many times that the very name usually caused 50 pairs of eyes to roll simultaneously. It was the end of the week, and we groaned when this student managed to work Northrop Frye into the discussion yet again, although he had no apparent connection to the topic. Even the professor was exasperated. "Is there not one day that can pass without you mentioning that man?" he asked.

"But, sir," the student protested, "it's Frye-day!"
