Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault’s Blue Hanger Fix
Roses are red, violets are blue…and this chic little hanger makeover is too!
- Wooden hanger
- Lint-free rag
- Drop cloth or old sheet
- Zinsser® Bulls Eye 1-2-3® Water-Base Spray Primer
- Krud Kutter® Gloss-Off Prepaint Surface Preparation
- Painter’s Touch® Ultra Cover Paint in Gloss Ocean Mist
- Adhesive gold glitter paper
- Hole punch
Step 1: To begin, move the hanger to an open area, either outdoors or in a well-ventilated space such as a garage, and cover nearby items with drop cloths to protect them from over-spray when painting.
Step 2: Wearing disposable gloves, use a lint-free rag to wipe down all wood surfaces of the hanger with Krud Kutter Gloss-Off to prep for paint. No need to rinse.
Step 3: Using painter’s tape, mask off the metal top hook.
Step 4: Apply a light coat of Zinsser primer to the wood surfaces. Let dry.
Step 5: Apply 2 coats of Painter’s Touch in Gloss Ocean Mist.
Step 6: To add a touch of sparkle, use a hole punch to cut out dots from a sheet of glitter adhesive paper and apply them randomly to the top of the hanger.
