6 DIY Window Fixes
Seal a leak, stop a crack and patch up a torn screen with these cheap, easy do-it-yourself window fixing solutions.
I am going to be installing some drywall in my basement. I know that tape has to be placed where two drywall panels meet. Should I use paper tape or fiberglass tape, and what is the difference between the two?
There are differences between paper and fiberglass tape. The paper type is less expensive and works very well. It comes with a crease running down the middle that allows it to be folded at a 90° angle, which is ideal when working in corners. The fiberglass mesh does not fold as well, and is also very difficult to plaster smoothly over the top when it is not buried in a valley. It is, however, stronger, and works well when covering a wall crack with plaster, if you scrape out a valley to bury it. I use the old-fashioned paper tape for standard drywall applications.
