5 More Things To Do with Newspaper

In the age of recycling, why not also opt for reusing? All you need is one newspaper and you can try all five of these tips to improve your home, your style and your well-being.
1. Make Your Own Framed Art
Collage old newspaper articles with dried flowers, ribbons, and anything else you can find to hang your own art on the walls of your home. Amateurs welcome!
2. Prop Up Uneven Furniture
Got an unsteady table or an uneven floor lamp? Fold up a piece of newspaper and place it underneath to balance things out. It’s even better if the legs are metal because the newspaper will keep your floors from getting wrecked or stained from rust.
3. Make a Paper Mache Piñata
Bring out your inner child. Mix 2 parts liquid glue with 1 part water and dab the paste on newspaper pieces around a balloon (leave out a small area at the bottom). Let dry and then use colourful acrylic paint to decorate it in true Mexican fashion. Finally, pop the balloon with a pin, fill with candy and tape up the bottom, then hang it and whack away!
4. Get Creative with Nail Polish Patterns
Steampunk-ify your nails! Put on the polish of your choice then before it’s completely dry, place some newspaper down on each nail. The print will act as a stamp, leaving behind a newspaper pattern.
5. Wrap Gifts
Save money and paper by reusing old newspapers when wrapping presents – it’s what’s inside that really counts. Just make sure not to use the obit section or a lewd “personals” page – unless you’re trying to drop your loved one some kind of a hint!
