Super-Simple Cookie Houses
These no-bake mini-mansions are a million times easier to make than the gingerbread variety.
Dress up a dog or cat with quick collar covers (minimal sewing skills required!).

What you will need:
Heavy cotton or muslin fabric
2-ply-fabric dog or cat collar
Gold metallic acrylic or fabric paints or fabric marker
Small paintbrush
Stencils, if desired
Step 1:
Cut fabric to measure 1 inch longer than length of collar from leash ring to outside edge of buckle and 2 times wider than collar plus 1-1/2 inches. Sew a 1/2-inch-wide hem along both short sides of fabric.
Step 2:
With the right sides together, fold fabric lengthwise. Stitch long edges together, using a 1/4-inch seam. Turn the collar right-side-out and press.
Step 3:
Using gold paint or a gold fabric marker, write dog's name on collar, being careful to center it. Using a small stencil (you can create your own with heavy paper and a craft knife), paint designs on either side of name. Let dry. Slip cover onto collar.
