4. Peanut Butter and Nuts

It’s time for the return of the peanut butter sandwich (this time, on whole wheat). In the Nurses Health Study of more than 80,000 women with no history of diabetes, those who ate nuts five times a week lowered their risk of type 2 diabetes by 30 per cent compared to women who never ate nuts; eating peanut butter fives times a week cut risk by 20 per cent.
