Ingredients

1 package (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate pieces
2 tablespoons solid vegetable shortening
1 package (6 ounces) white chocolate pieces
8 clementines (or small tangerines), divided into sections

Directions

  1. In the top of a double boiler, over hot — not boiling — water (or in a bowl over a saucepan of simmering water), melt semisweet chocolate and 1 tablespoon of shortening. Remove from heat. Repeat with white chocolate and remaining shortening.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine chocolates. Swirl together lightly with a toothpick or chopstick. Dip one half of the clementine sections into chocolate mixture. Place dipped fruit on a waxed-paper-lined cookie sheet. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes, or until ready to serve. (Can be made up to 1 day ahead.)
