What would a Passover feast be without matzoballs? Here is a staff favourite from Grandma Mitzi. Enjoy!
Preparation Time: 5 minutes plus 1 hour chilling
Cooking Time: 30-60 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients
6 Eggs
1 cup water
½ tsp salt
pinch pepper
1 tbsp oil
2 cups matzo meal
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, beat eggs and water. Add salt, pepper, oil.
- Stir in matzo meal.
- Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Form mixture into large walnut-sized balls (balls expand in the pot) with moist hands (either water or oil). Drop balls into large pot of salted water or chicken broth. Simmer 30-60 minutes.
- Serve in chicken soup.
